Redmi Smart TV X, Xiaomi QLED 55-inch latest update brings “Cooperation with Alexa” app

Two new TVs owned by India’s Xiaomi are receiving new software updates, which will turn the TVs into smart home hubs for Amazon’s Alexa hardware kit. According to a tweet by Sudeep Sahu, Xiaomi’s TV chief in India, the latest update will bring a service called “Works With Alexa” to the two TVs-Redmi Smart TV X and Mi QLED TV. This update is rolled out in stages, so it may take a while for you to receive the update-if you happen to own one of the two TVs above.

Works With Alexa is a service that is enabled locally on a specific device. After the service is enabled, in this case, on Redmi Smart TV X and Mi QLED TVs, users will be able to control their Alexa-enabled hardware, such as smart displays and smart speakers, from inside the TV. This can turn these TVs into an all-in-one control center, and does not require users to use multiple devices to operate auxiliary equipment, such as speakers and displays.

Redmi Smart TV X and Xiaomi QLED TV updates should appear soon. After installing the update, users will be able to discover the services integrated into the home screen of these TV Patch wall.

Redmi Smart TV X is a cheaper product that provides users with a 4K LED panel with HDR and Dolby Vision certification. This TV runs on Android 10 and is available in three sizes-the 50-inch model is priced at 32,999 rupees, the 55-inch model is priced at 38,999 rupees, and the top 65-inch model is priced at 57,999 rupees. The series was launched in India in March this year.

At the same time, Xiaomi QLED TVs only offer a 55-inch screen size and will be launched in the country in December 2020. The TV offers a 4K QLED panel that can compete with companies such as Samsung, supports multiple HDR formats and Dolby Vision, and can also run on Android 10-the company’s Patchwall custom interface adds a layer to the user interface.

Currently, it is not clear where the Alexa dedicated service will be on Redmi and Xiaomi TVs. Once the update is rolled out in all units of the TV, more details will surface.
