OPPO explores a new form of mobile phones, surround screen may become the latest research and development direction
Recently, according to Dutch technology blog LetsGoDigital, in May 2021, OPPO obtained a patent authorization from the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) entitled “Methods for Assembling and Disassembling Electronic Devices,” which described in detail OPPO’s immense ability to assemble and design flexible screens of different sizes.
The patent schematic shows that the front, left, and back of the OPPO surround screen concept design are mostly covered with flexible screens. Only an extended area is reserved on the back to accommodate the vertically designed camera module system.

Not the first time OPPO has explored the shape of a mobile phone. As early as 2013, OPPO released the world’s first smartphone with a rotating camera, OPPO N1. In 2018, it released OPPO Find X with a dual-track periscope structure. In 2019, it released a side-rotating lifting structure camera. OPPO Reno released 2020 the OPPO X 2021 scroll screen concept machine.
