TikTok has popularized the fast-access short video platform, enabling users to quickly browse massive short videos and enjoy endless entertainment. Both Snapchat and Instagram have their own alternatives, with the same overall design; similarly, YouTube has recently introduced Shorts extensively.
As far as Reddit is concerned, it is still a primarily text-based platform for sharing media such as images and videos. In recent history, the company has also expanded to live streaming video broadcasts on its “Reddit Public Access Network” (RPAN). This time, it uses existing videos on its platform to provide a TikTok-like experience.
Obviously, this feature is currently only available to users who use the company’s iOS apps. We can see a new button near the search bar to open short video streams; users can swipe up to watch new videos, and they can also choose to share content.
