The new Huawei Mate 40 phone will be launched soon. this news comes from Huawei Mobile U.K.’s Twitter account. This is unexpected because just a few days ago, we heard rumours that the next-generation flagship product would not be available in Europe until 2021.
Likely, this will still be the case. Leakster Roland Quandt reported that these phones would be made public in the live broadcast currently scheduled for mid-October. That is mainly for the Chinese market, but this tweet proves that Huawei has not given up on trying to launch top-of-the-line phones in Europe, even if it takes longer than usual.
According to reports, sources within Huawei said that the Kirin 9000, which will power the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, will be the first 5nm chipset to integrate a 5G modem. When Apple released its first 5nm chip yesterday, its design relied on an external modem.
Please note that some leaks claim that Kirin 9000 will be used by Mate 40 Pro and Pro+, while the vanilla Mate 40 will have to choose a streamlined chip called Kirin 9000E. So far, due to U.S. sanctions, TSMC stopped shipments yesterday, and all chipsets that Huawei has received so far will receive full revenue.
