The new Motorola Edge device is coming soon, the name hints
Motorola has shifted its attention from foldable phones to Edge devices. Soon after the release schedule of the new Motorola Edge devices was leaked, we heard about what these phones will be called. Evan Blass recently told us on Twitter the possible names of these three phones, which will be available later this month.
The first of those new Motorola Edge phones will be called Motorola Edge 20
The entire universe of this phone has been leaked recently. Motorola Edge 20, formerly named Berlin NA, will become an intermediate mobile phone. This will be a variant of the United States. It will use Snapdragon 778G SoC with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage space.
The 6.78-inch display will be a 1080p+ panel (2460 x 1080) that can run at 120 Hz. It will have a centered punch at the top.
The main camera sensor is a huge 108-megapixel, which works with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and can double as a macro lens. There will be a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front. It will also be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery.
The international variant code name is Berlin. It will have a slightly smaller 6.67-inch display, a 16-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 3x zoom lens.
Next is the low-level variant
Motorola Edge 20 Lite, previously known as Kyoto, will use MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC, equipped with 6GB or 8GB of memory. It will also have 256GB of storage space. The display will be a 1080p+ display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080. It also has a punch hole and runs at 90 Hz.
Motorola Edge 20 Lite will be equipped with one more camera than the regular version. It will use a 108-pixel SOCELL S4KHM2 sensor, a 2-pixel depth sensor, an 8-pixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 32-pixel front camera made by Samsung. Keep the light on is a large 5,000 mAh battery.
The top version will be called Motorola Edge 20 Pro.
At the top of the pecking order, we have the Motorola Edge 20 Pro. The device will use a Snapdragon 870 SoC with up to 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage space.
It will use the same 108-megapixel camera as the Motorola Edge 20 but may be equipped with an 8-megapixel telephoto camera that can reach 5 times. The selfie camera will be 32 megapixels (although it is believed that the Chinese version will be equipped with a 16-megapixel selfie camera).
Another advanced feature is the rumored under-screen fingerprint scanner. No other device was instructed to have one. Curiously, Motorola decided to use a smaller 4,500mAh battery. This is 10% smaller than other types of batteries.
It is rumored that these new Motorola Edge devices will be launched at the end of July, to expect some news before then.
