MediaTek launches Kompanio 1300T platform focusing on high-end tablets.
MediaTek today announced the launch of its Kompanio 1300T chipset. It aims to power computing equipment and is built on 6-nanometer process technology. The chip brings excellent performance to the tablet computer, supports 5G, multimedia, artificial intelligence, and gaming technology to provide a better experience.
According to MediaTek, the new Kompanio 1300T will enable OEMs to build powerful, lightweight, and portable tablets for online education, commerce, streaming services, games, and AI applications.

Our Kompanio chip enables brands to design lightweight tablets and personal computing products with strong performance and longer battery life, thereby bringing users innovative features and new mobile computing experiences.

Kompanio 1300T chip is based on TSMC’s 6nm process technology and integrates an eight-core processor, a high-performance ARM Cortex-A78 core, and a high-efficiency ARM Cortex-A55 core. In addition, it also has a high-performance nine-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9 GPU that supports smoother games and high frame rates. SoC also integrates MediaTek’s APU (AI Processing Unit), which can provide more powerful and energy-efficient AI computing.
The chipset also integrates several 5G technologies, such as 5G sub-6Ghz frequency band, 5G-2CA, and dual 5G SIM. In addition, it also supports 5G elevator mode and 5G HSR mode enhancements that provide high-speed connections. It also supports HDR10+, AI-PQ (picture quality), and a chip-level eye protection engine for filtering blue light. It supports dual displays with two full HD displays. It also supports 4K HDR video recording.
The additional features of the MediaTek Kompanio 1300T platform include:
· Enhanced color display supports 2.5K display, refresh rate up to 120Hz, HDR10+, and is also equipped with MediaTek’s MiraVision technology and eye protection engine.
·Professional imaging: camera sensor supporting up to 108MP camera, 4K 40fps video encoding and decoding, chip-level interlaced 4K HDR video recording, multi-depth smart focus, and AI-Clear streaming.
· Intelligent voice recognition: Kompanio 1300T supports artificial intelligence voice assistant and integrates ultra-low power consumption voice wake-up (VoW) function. It also creates a more immersive audiovisual experience.
· Improve gaming experience: It includes the new platform features of MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0, which can optimize network connection, control, performance, energy-saving, and image quality.
· High-speed connection: support 5G Sub-6Gh and 2CC carrier aggregation, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
MediaTek said that the new tablet PC equipped with the Kompanio 1300T platform will be released later this year.
