If you have a unique feeling for smartphones with slide-out full keyboards, the Astro Slide 5G smartphone just launched by Planet Computers may interest you.


This smartphone was announced at CES in 2022. The unique hinge design brings a backlit physical full keyboard that can slide out from the bottom of the phone display. This phone can be installed with the Android 11 system or Linux distribution, and Planet Computers is still working hard to provide support for the Sailfish operating system.


Astro Slide 5G uses a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with FHD + resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection and has a 13-megapixel front camera. This phone uses Dimensity 800 5G chipset, with 8GB memory and 128GB storage, and can be expanded via microSD. In addition to a full QWERTY keyboard, it also has programmable keyboard keys that can quickly open applications or switch between system functions.

Astro Slide 5G has a 48-megapixel Sony sensor on the back and a fingerprint reader. This phone is equipped with dual nano-SIM card slots, as well as two USB-C ports (one on each side) and a headphone jack. The battery capacity is 4,000mAh, supports 30W fast charging, is Qi-compatible, and can be charged wirelessly.

Planet Astro Slide 5G is only available in a single blue, priced at 862 pounds (about 7447 yuan), and it is said that the machine will be delivered in March.
