Samsung Galaxy S21 Olympic Edition
Samsung released the Galaxy S21 Olympic Edition smartphone last month. This is a special edition mobile phone made for the upcoming Olympic Games in Japan. We have seen the rendering of the device, not the real image of the Galaxy S21 Olympic edition…until now.
The device has surfaced in China, let’s take a closer look at it. This special edition phone is the same as the normal Galaxy S21, but with a different color and Olympic brand on the back.
Samsung calls this color “Phantom Blue”, while regular models offer the “Phantom Violet” color. To be honest, these colors are a bit similar, but not the same.
Please note that this smartphone was released because the Galaxy S20 Olympic Edition was cancelled. The Olympics were originally scheduled to be held last year, but the pandemic forced some changes.
The Galaxy S21 Olympic Edition will be exclusively sold in Japan by NTT DoCoMo. This is the same as Samsung’s agreement with Japanese operators on Galaxy S20 variants last year.
This phone does come with some software goodies, but not as many as its predecessor
In addition to some color changes, this phone variant also has some different user interfaces. It has some special wallpapers, but no limited-edition soundscapes. This is not the case with the Galaxy S20 Olympic Edition, so this is strange. However, we are not sure if any other content has been added.
The specifications are the same as the regular Galaxy S21. This phone is equipped with a 6.2-inch full HD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is also equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage space.
Snapdragon 888 powers the phone, and the package also includes a 5,000 mAh battery. This phone does support 25W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
The Olympic Games are expected to start on July 23 this year and will last until August 8. As mentioned earlier, the entire event is held in Japan.
